Dialup Information

Here is step-by-step instructions on how to setup a new dial-up connection to wpcs.net on a Windows 98 Operating System using Internet Explorer 5.0, Internet Explorer 5.5, or Internet Explorer 6.0. If you would like to see what each section should look like, click on the picture to the left of the instruction set you are on

	1. Click the Start Button on your Taskbar (Normally located in the lower left corner of your screen) 2. Move your mouse over Programs and a new menu will appear. 3. Move your mouse over Accessories. 4. Move your mouse over Internet Tools. 5. Click on Internet Connection Wizard..
	6. You will receive a window with the header "Welcome to the Connection Wizard". 7. Choose "I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area connection(LAN)." 8. Click Next.
	9. Under "Setting up your Internet Connection" choose "I connect through a phone line and a modem." 10. Click Next.
	11. Under "Step 1 of 3: Internet account connection information" type the phone number for your location. You do not need an area code or a hyphen (-). Do not type the quotation marks. "2578877" - West Plains "2642392" - Thayer, Mammoth Springs, Koshkonong 12. Remove the check mark from "Dial using the country code and area code." 13. Click Next.
	14. Under "Step 2 of 3: Internet account logon information" type in the User Name. 15. Type in your Password. 16. Click Next.
	17. Under "Step 3 of 3: Configuring your computer" type "wpcs.net" (without the quotation marks) in the area labeled "Connection name." 18. Click Next.
	19. If you would like to set up your wpcs.net email account choose "Yes" under the section labeled "Set Up Your Internet Mail Account." (If you would like to skip this step choose "No," click Next, and skip to step 35.) 20. Click Next.
	21. Under "Internet Mail Account" choose "Create a new Internet mail account." 22. Click Next.
	23. Under "Your Name" type in any of the following: first and last name, family name, business name, nickname, etc... 24. Click Next.
	25. Under "Internet Email Address" type type in your "user name" followed by "@wpcs.net". Do not type the quotation marks. 26. Click Next.
	27. Under "Email Server Names" leave "My incoming mail server is a POP3 server" set as is. 28. Under "Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, HTTP) server:" type "mail.wpcs.net" (without the quotation marks). 29. Under "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:" type "mail.wpcs.net" (without the quotation marks). 30. Click Next.
	31. Under "Internet Mail Logon" the "Account name" should already be correct. 32. Under "Password" type in your password. 33. Do not change either check mark box. 34. Click Next.
	35. You can choose whether or not you want "To connect to the Internet immediately" by toggling the check mark box on or off. 36. Click Finish.
